Paul Pike MSc, BA, MCIPS, CMIQ

 

Paul Pike has over 25 years of managerial experience in supply and procurement environments. Having a Master of Science Degree in Total Quality Management, he has specialised in the development of procurement strategies and improvement programmes including process re-engineering and associated training.

As well as having an extensive practical operational background, he has been a consultant for a number of years focusing on business development, performance management and the management of quality in the Middle East and UK.

Paul first worked in Saudi Arabia in 1997, but his most recent overseas contract was working with the Saudi Arabian Mining Company, the third largest company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His responsibility was to review the contracting and other procurement processes and build awareness of procurement best practices to deliver improvement, formalise processes and develop standard procedures. In addition, he introduced an Oracle-based Supplier Relationship Management system.

In Abu Dhabi, he introduced and developed a web-based policies and procedures system as part of a transformation project that integrated all business functions within a large government procurement organisation.

From 2005 to 2009, as Head of Business Planning with Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation, Paul was responsible for improving processes to support strategy and was the internal project manager for the implementation of a replacement Enterprise Management System.

From 2000 to 2005, he was employed as the National Supply Chain Manager for the NHS in Scotland with a remit to improve supply processes and managing an integration programme which became eProcurement Scotland. This involved working with medical and non-medical suppliers and distributors to prepare them for adoption into the e-Procurement programme.

At the Defence Supply and Distribution Agency, he was also involved in turning strategy into workable supply initiatives being appointed as a member of the Defence Supply and Distribution Agency Corporate Planning Committee and the Agency�s Management Information Working Group

Paul�s involvement with CIPS training began in 1999 as a tutor at South Nottingham College and he has introduced corporate training programmes and mentored candidates since that time. His training style delivers a blend of procurement knowledge with the softer skills required to become effective. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)

Paul is also a member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CMQI). He has been a European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) award assessor and been directly involved in implementing programmes of excellence and the writing of award submissions.
